Greensburg, PA : An Avonmore man died in a one-vehicle crash on Route 380 on Wednesday, August 30, 2017

An Avonmore man died in a one-vehicle crash on Route 380 in Bell Township on Tuesday afternoon.

The Westmoreland County Coroner's Office identified the driver as Rocky Walter Annecchini, 41, of Allegheny Avenue.

The crash was reported just before 3:30 p.m. in the area of 2123 Route 380.

State police said Annecchini was driving a minivan east on Route 380 at an “accelerated rate of speed.”

According to state police and coroner reports, Annecchini's vehicle went off the road about a quarter-mile past Henderson Lane. It slid, hit an embankment and overturned.

Annecchini was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. He suffered a serious injury and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death was ruled accidental.
