North Salt Lake, UT : Dump truck crashes into power lines, closes Redwood Road in North Salt Lake on Saturday, 20th August, 2016

Redwood Road was closed north and south bound between Center Street and Interstate 215 on Saturday, Aug. 20, due to a dump truck crash.

According to the South Davis Metro Fire Agency and the Utah Department of Transportation, a dump truck hit power lines on Redwood Road at Northpoint Drive, causing a power outage, two grass fires and a car fire. Police received reports of the crash at 10:32 a.m., Bountiful Dispatch said.

Dispatch said around noon that all fires were out.

Redwood Road opened again around 3:15 p.m., but motorists were encouraged to use caution in the area as crews were still working on power lines, according to a tweet from the South Davis Metro Fire Agency.

No injuries were reported.

South Davis Metro Fire Chief Jeff Bassett said Saturday afternoon the cause of the crash was unknown.
