Baton Rouge, LA : 18-wheeler crashed and ended up with a crumpled trailer in downtown Baton Rouge on Wednesday afternoon, March 4, 2015

An 18-wheeler collapsed in Downtown Baton Rouge on Monday afternoon after trying to make a turn near the Old Governor's Mansion.

The driver, 61-year-old Darrell Sturtz, said his trailer buckled when he tried to turn right onto North Boulevard from 6th Street.

Sturtz said his tires went onto the curb and that the trailer collapsed when they came back down onto the road. his tires went onto the curb and

"Pretty frightening, I thought that they could pull it out but I guess not," said Sam Goldman who witnessed the accident.

Sturtz was headed to River road after coming all the way from Missouri.

The 18-wheeler was hauling herbicides, according to Baton Rouge Fire Department's Curt Monte. BRFD unloaded the trailer and said the contents were never a threat to the public.

No one was injured in the accident.
