Frederick, MD : No students injured in crash involving county school bus on U.S. 15 in Frederick on Thursday afternoon, February 23, 2017
No students were injured in a two-vehicle crash involving a county school bus on U.S. 15 in Frederick on Thursday afternoon, according to a county schools spokesman, but one student was evaluated.
The crash happened shortly before 4 p.m. on southbound U.S. 15 near Motter Avenue when the school bus rear-ended another vehicle, said Michael Doerrer, a spokesman for Frederick County Public Schools. The bus was taking about 20 students home from school when the crash occurred, he said.
"They did an evaluation on the scene and no one is being transported," Doerrer said of the crash. The parents of each student would be notified about the crash, along with a broader alert sent to the school community.
A second bus was sent to finish taking the students to their respective stops, Doerrer said.
A patrol supervisor with the Frederick County Sheriff's Office was not immediately available for comment Thursday afternoon.
