Plattsmouth, NE : 30-year-old Grand Island woman sentenced fatal hit-and-run collision on interstate 80 in eastern Nebraska on Tuesday February 9 2016

A 30-year-old Grand Island woman has been sentenced to up to 11 years in prison for a fatal hit-and-run collision on Interstate 80 in eastern Nebraska.
Online court records show that Mandy MacDonald was sentenced Tuesday in Cass County District Court to one year for misdemeanor vehicular homicide and seven to 10 years for a felony count of leaving the scene of an injury accident.
MacDonald had pleaded no contest in November to the charges.
Authorities say MacDonald lost control of her car on May 31 near the I-80 Greenwood exit and hit a westbound vehicle. That vehicle rolled, ejecting its driver, 50-year-old Kristin Olson of Grand Island, who died.
Authorities say MacDonald fled but was stopped by a state trooper a few miles west.
