Authorities say a second person has died following a wrong-way crash on Interstate 96 in western Michigan.
The Ottawa County sheriff's department says in a statement that 79-year-old Shirley VanHoeven of Montague died Monday night at a hospital. She was a passenger in a car driven by her 80-year-old husband Donald VanHoeven.
Officials earlier said that 81-year-old Donna Laymon of Grand Rapids died in the Friday afternoon crash in Wright Township. She was a in a car driven by her 83-year-old husband that went airborne over a berm and onto a freeway exit ramp.
Leslie Laymon continued driving about 1,000 feet west in the freeway's eastbound lanes before the collision with the VanHoevens' car.
