Bowling Green, KY : Police investigate burglary after safe causes crash on Monday, August 28, 2017
Officers with the Russellville Police Department are investigating a burglary after a motorist struck a safe in the road early Monday morning.
According to the RPD, officers responded to a crash at U.S. 431-S at Pine Drive at 3:52 a.m. Monday, where they found a vehicle had struck a large safe in the road.
Officers followed the drag marks left by the safe and found that a burglary had occurred at Rolling Hills Golf Course.
An unknown suspect or suspects may have driven a vehicle into the south wall of a building at the golf course, gone inside and stolen the safe. The safe was then dragged behind the vehicle until it was lost in the middle of the road, leading to the crash involving the second driver.
The safe and its contents were recovered by RPD.
