STURGIS, SD : An Indiana man died in a motorcycle crash on Tuesday, August 8, 2017

An Indiana man died in a motorcycle crash Tuesday night.

According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 8:54 p.m. on Interstate 90 near mile marker 39, 7 miles east of Sturgis.

A motorcycle was eastbound on I-90 when the driver lost control, laying the motorcycle on its side. The driver, a 27-year-old male from Fort Wayne, Ind., was not wearing a helmet and suffered fatal injuries.

It's the second fatal crash during the annual Sturgis motorcycle rally so far this year, which is the same number of fatal crashes as last year to-date.
