Murfreesboro, TN : Two semis collided on Interstate 24 on early Wednesday morning, causing major traffic delays on August 13th 2014
Two semis collided on Interstate 24 in Murfreesboro early Wednesday morning, causing major traffic delays for thousands of commuters.
The wreck occurred in the westbound lanes at Medical Center Parkway just after 4 a.m.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, one of the truck drivers was reaching down for something when he crashed into the guardrail.
A second truck driver stopped to help him but forgot to put his rig in park and it rolled into the first semi.
The first semi will have to be towed away, but authorities believe the second truck will be okay to drive.
The driver of the first truck was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. He is expected to be fine.
The crash resulted in diesel fuel spilling onto the road, delaying cleanup.
Three lanes of the four westbound lanes had reopened by 7 a.m. although traffic was extremely slow in the area.
