Authorities say a police officer was involved in a crash while chasing a man suspected in the theft of a car in Springfield.
Capt. Robert Strzempek says the officer wasn't seriously hurt in the crash, which occurred around 5 p.m. Sunday.
Strzempek says the officer had been chasing a person driving a stolen car. The driver crashed into a parked car, and the impact of the crash caused the police cruiser to also get hit.
He says the suspect was arrested.
No one was immediately identified.
