GRAND FORKS, ND : Driver charged with unsafe vehicle operation after crash on Sunday, 25th November 2018

A 21-year-old is uninjured after veering off US Highway 2 to avoid hitting a stalled vehicle at around 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25.
According to highway patrol, Evie Allen was driving west in a Toyota Camry on US Highway 2 when she encountered a stopped vehicle in the traffic lane. Allen steered to avoid hitting the 1987 Chevrolet panel van and went into a skid, striking a guard rail on the median side of the westbound lanes.The Chevrolet was not struck. It had come to a stop in that location after a mechanical problem.
The driver of the stalled 1987 Chevrolet panel van was 60-year-old Richard Iverson, who was charged with operating an unsafe vehicle. He is also uninjured.
The Toyota Camry sustained moderate front-end damage.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
