Bayou L'Ourse, LA : 56-year-old Morgan City man died in a single vehicle fatality crash in Assumption Parish on Sunday morning, April 17, 2016

A 56-year-old Morgan City man was killed this morning when his car struck a driveway north of U.S. 90 in Bayou L'Ourse and rolled several times, ejecting him, State Police said.

Bruce Campbell was driving south on La. 662 in a 2013 Honda Civic when he ran off the right side of the road as he entered a slight left curve, Trooper First Class Jesse LaGrange said in a news release.

Troopers began investigating shortly before 6:30 a.m., LaGrange said. Campbell, who was not wearing his seat belt, was pronounced dead by the Assumption Parish Coroner's Office.

LaGrange said alcohol use is unknown at this time, but routine toxicology tests are pending. Speed is suspected as a factor in the crash.
