A Kingfisher man died Thursday after a crash near Hennessey, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Jake C. Simpson, 28, died at an Enid hospital after suffering injuries in a crash about 6:40 a.m. on State Highway 51 about 8 miles west of Hennessey, the patrol reported.
Simpson was driving a pickup west on S.H. 51 when he struck the rear of a tractor-trailer that was driven by Farrell Eugene Lewis, 63, of Enid. Lewis was not injured.
Lewis had stopped for another vehicle that was turning onto a county road when Simpson failed to stop.
Seat belts were in use by both drivers, the patrol reported.
