Mccurtain County, OK : 6-week-old baby killed after car crashes into cow in S.E. Oklahoma on Sunday, May 1, 2016
A six-week-old baby has passed away after the car he was in crashed into a cow in southeast Oklahoma.
Just after 9:30 p.m. on May 1, Shawna Bridges, 29, was driving down Pine Creek County Rd. in
McCurtain County with her four children when her vehicle struck a cow in the roadway.
After hitting the cow, officials say the vehicle ran off the road.
Bridges and three of her children, ages 2, 10, and 8, were treated and released for head injuries.
Her 6-week-old baby boy, Kingston, was transported by Air-Evac to Children’s Hospital in Dallas with
head injuries.
Initially, the baby was listed in stable condition; however, a few hours later, officials say the boy
succumbed to his injuries sustained in the accident.
Officials say seatbelts were in use by the driver and the two oldest children. Child restraints were
in use by the infant and the 2-year-old.
