Dodge,WI : Six injured in Dodge County crash on August, Saturday 12th 2017
Six people were injured, including three children, in a two vehicle accident in the Dodge County Town of Elba Saturday morning, Aug. 12.
The accident occurred at 9:41 a.m. at the intersection of County Highway TT and State Highway 16/60, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department.
A Dodge 2006 Dodge Caravan van was north on County Highway TT when the driver, a 41-year-old Watertown man failed to stop for a posted stop sign at the state highway.
The van entered the intersection and collided with a Ford Econoline van that was west on State Highway 16/60. That vehicle was operated by a 91-year-old man from Waukesha.
The male driver of the Dodge van was not seriously injured and refused treatment at the scene.
A 36-year-old female passenger in the Dodge van was transported to Summit Hospital in Oconomowoc with serious injuries.
A 5-year-old child in the Dodge van was transported to Columbus Hospital with serious injuries and then transferred via ambulance to UW-Hospital in Madison.
A 3-year-old and a 7-year-old, both in the Dodge van, sustained life-threatening injuries, and were both transported from the scene by a medical helicopter to UW-Hospital.
The male driver and a 70-year-old woman passenger from Waukesha, were both transported from the scene with serious injuries to Columbus Hospital in Columbus. They were both later transferred by ambulance to UW-Hospital.
Assisting at the scene was the Columbus police and fire departments; Wisconsin State Patrol; Lifestar EMS, Beaver Dam EMS, Waterloo EMS, Watertown EMS, Dodge County Emergency Response Team, Flight For Life, and the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
Identification of those involved in the crash are being withheld until Monday.
