A woman killed in a collision with a big-rig on state Highway 152 just west of Gilroy on Tuesday morning has been identified as 72-year-old Martha Grace Crum of Hollister, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At about 10:50 a.m., Crum was behind the wheel of a 2011 Toyota heading north on Frazier Lake Road and didn't yield to oncoming eastbound traffic as she made a left turn to westbound Highway 152, CHP officials said.
The Toyota hit the front of a 2012 Peterbilt truck, then spun out until the car came to a stop facing south, according to the CHP.
The truck driver, a 61-year-old Ontario man, pulled over to the right shoulder and waited for officers to arrive, CHP officials said.
Emergency crews also responded to the scene and transported Crum to Regional Medical Center of San Jose, where she was pronounced dead about an hour later, according to the CHP.
The big-rig driver suffered minor injuries and wasn't arrested in connection with the collision, CHP officials said.
