Lincoln County, MO : Two people killed in a head-on collision on Highway 61 near Moscow Mills on Monday night, May 4, 2015

A head-on crash on Highway 61 on Monday night killed both drivers.

The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the victims as Yasumasa Nakajima, 55, of Hawk Point, and Sharon G. Mueller, 20, of Troy, Mo.

At about 9:30 p.m. Monday, Nakajima was driving a 1998 Toyota Camry north on Highway 61 in Lincoln County when he crossed the grassy median. He collided head-on with a southbound car driven by Mueller.

The crash happened south of Route U.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol said. Both died at the scene.

The patrol's brief summary of the crash does not indicate why Nakajima's car crossed the median.
