A New Fairfield man died early Sunday morning after an accident on Interstate-84 in Bethel.
A vehicle with Indiana plates, driven by Mason Alexander Torres, 26, of Van Nuys, Calif., was stopped on I-84 West, near exit 9 on the right shoulder around midnight Sunday, according to the State Police. Kurtis Liska, 27, of New Fairfield, was traveling in the right lane and drifted into the right shoulder of the roadway and then collided with the vehicle with Indiana plates.
Liska sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Danbury Hospital, where he died, said police. Torres and his passenger, Jesus Sanchez, 22, of Santa Ana, Calif., were uninjured, they said.
Both vehicles sustained damage. The case is still under investigation.
