A driver has turned himself in after a hit-skip accident that injured a pedestrian in Stark County.
The 19-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured after getting struck by the vehicle Wednesday morning on U.S. Route 30 near the village of Minerva.
Troopers said Taylor J. Pandrea of Minerva was walking westbound on U.S. 30 between Tunnel Hill Avenue Southeast and Cindell Street Southeast when a vehicle struck him. The driver of that vehicle did not stop at the scene, according to authorities.
According to State Highway Patrol, troopers are currently interviewing the driver and processing the vehicle and will release more information about the suspect at a future time.
Pandrea was taken by the Minerva Fire Department to Aultman Hospital, where he is critical condition.
It is unknown if alcohol is a factor in the crash and whether the driver was wearing his seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation.
