NEW LONDON, CT : Three women injured in New London crash on Thursday, 29th November 2018

Three women were injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in New London.

The accident was reported at 6:36 p.m. at the intersection of state Highways 23 and 9.According to the State Patrol, a 2013 Dodge Avenger, driven by Kathy Lee Brunsdale, 51, of New London, was going east on Highway 9 when it collided with a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Donna Louise Bengtson, 62, of Sartell, that was going south on Highway 23.

The accident was described as a right-angle type collision.

Road conditions were wet at the time.

The drivers, as well as a passenger in the Mitsubishi, Julie Louise Dearking, 71, of St Cloud, were taken to Rice Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

The intersection, which is the main entrance to New London from Highway 23, has been the site of frequent accidents and is being studied for possible alterations to improve safety. The speed limit on Highway 23 is 65 mph in this area.

The New London Fire Department, New London Ambulance, Willmar Ambulance, Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Natural Resources assisted at the scene.
