Morrison ,CO : Three people killed and driver seriously injured after one-car, rollover crash on Saturday ,August 15th 2015
Colorado State Patrol officers are investigating a one-car, rollover crash near Morrison that killed three people and seriously injured the driver, according to authorities.
Two women and one man were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, CSP Trooper Nate Reid said.
"It's a horrible, tragic reminder that life is fragile. All it takes is one moment and your life can be changed forever. If the driver lives, he will be facing charges," Reid said.
The man who was driving the BMW was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
The accident happened near U.S. 285 and South Turkey Creek Road late Friday night, Reid said.
The driver lost control of the BMW, which veered off the right side of the road and down a steep embankment.
The car began to roll as it tumbled down the embankment, Reid said.
Multiple people were ejected from the vehicle as it rolled, he said. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
"The car ended up quite a distance away from the road," Reid said.
Authorities have released a picture of a vehicle resting on its roof in a grassy field.
Investigators will be able to determine whether the passengers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, Reid said.
