Hart County, GA : Hart Co. man dies in two-vehicle crash in the 4300 block of South Dixie Highway in Hart County on Tuesday, 14th August 2018

A Hart County man died in a two-vehicle crash that occurred around 8 p.m. Tuesday night in the 4300 block of South Dixie Highway in Hart County.

The crash occurred when Hailey Wilson, 18, of Munfordville, who was traveling southbound on South Dixie Highway crossed the yellow centerline of the road and into the path of Michael D. Riggs, 50, also of Munfordville, who was traveling northbound, said a Kentucky State Police press release.

Upon impact, Rigg's 1992 GMC pickup truck left the east side of the road and caught fire. Riggs was pronounced dead on the scene by Hart County Coroner Reggie Pettit. Wilson was airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of serious injuries sustained in the crash, the press release said.
