An Indiana State Police Trooper and another motorist were injured today when their vehicles collided in Vermillion County.

Senior Trooper Chuck Murphy was driving a northbound unmarked 2013 Dodge Charger, with emergency lights and siren activated, on County Road 350 East near East Fourth Street at Clinton when the 9:40 a.m. crash occurred.

Murphy was responding to a vehicle crash in northern Vermillion County when he attempted to pass a 2006 Cadillac Escalade that moved to the right. As the trooper's car passed on the left, the Escalade turned left into the passenger side of the police car, forcing the Charger off the west side of the road into a utility police.
