A 4-year-old Georgia boy was killed Thursday morning in a two-car crash on Interstate 75.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 28-year-old Yessica Trujilla, of Roswell, Georgia, was traveling south on I-75 in a minivan around 6 a.m. behind a semi-truck driven by Michael Locklear, a 48-year-old from Lumberton, North Carolina.

The FHP report states Locklear switched lanes to enter the southbound agriculture inspection station, slowing down for inspection, and the mini-van followed the semi in switching lanes.

According to the report, the mini-van didn’t slow down in time, rear-ending the semi.

Trujilla was transported to Lake City Medical Center along with all four passengers in the van, children between the ages of 3 and 11. A 4-year-old boy, who was secured in a car seat in the right rear, middle row seat, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
