Motorcyclist, 29, killed in west El Paso crash in Texas

A 29-year-old motorcyclist is dead after a crash in west El Paso. Police said Jesse Valdez, of Anthony, N.M., crashed on Interstate 10 west at the Sunland Park exit ramp around 10 a.m. Thursday. Police said Valdez lost control of his 2003 Honda CBR 600 and crashed into a guardrail. He was ejected, suffered life-threatening injuries and later died at a hospital, police said. Traffic crews had closed the westbound Sunland Park exit ramp so police could investigate. Police said this is the 33rd traffic-related death of the year, compared to 37 by this time last year.
