At least one person was injured in a vehicle accident on the interstate in west Charlotte Thursday, according to Medic.
The crash happened just before 5:30 p.m. on southbound I-485 near I-85, which is Exit 10. Officials have not released many details, but firefighters confirmed the crash involved a vehicle and a tractor trailer.
From WBTV's Sky3, it appeared an SUV struck the back of the tractor trailer, suffering very heavy front-end damage.
Medic said one person was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with very serious injuries. That person's name has not been released.
Heavy delays were reported on the interstate while crews worked at the scene.
Officials have not said what may have led to the wreck or if any charges are being filed.
