Galloway, N.J : 5 hurt in wrong-way 3-vehicle crash in South Jersey on Monday afternoon, March 6, 2017
Five people were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Galloway caused by a wrong-way driver Monday afternoon, police said.
Caridad Shieh 62, of Cortlandt Manor, N.Y., crashed into two other cars while driving a 2003 Suzuki east in the westbound lanes of Route 30 just before 6:30 p.m. Monday, Galloway police said in a news release.
Shieh's car struck a BMW driven by a 40-year-old Atlantic City woman and then a Lexus driven by a 69-year-old Absecon man near the intersection with 5th Avenue, authorities said.
Shieh's injuries were moderate, while two passengers in the BMW suffered minor injuries. All three were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's Mainland Campus in the Pomona section of Galloway.
The drivers of the BMW and Lexus suffered minor injuries, but declined medical treatment.
Shieh was issued a summons for driving in the wrong direction on a divided highway.
Eastbound Route 30 was closed for about an hour.
