ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC : Orangeburg Co car collision leaves two dead on Saturday, 7th September 2024

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says two people are dead after a Freightliner truck tractor collided with an ATV Saturday afternoon.
The collision occurred on US Highway 601 near Scenic Drive, about five miles north of Orangeburg at approximately 4:20 p.m.
Master Trooper Gary Miller said a 2024 Freightliner truck tractor (pulling a trailer) was traveling north on US Highway 601 when the 2020 Kawasaki ATV was attempting to cross the highway and was struck by the truck.
The driver of the truck was the sole occupant and was not injured. The driver and passenger of the ATV, both juveniles, were pronounced dead at the scene.
