Two lanes of northbound Highway 99 in Stanislaus County are back open after a crash and chemical spill shut down the highway, Caltrans said.The No. 2 and 3 lanes reopened about 12:50 p.m., but the No. 1 lanes still remains closed at Hatch Road.The onramps from Mitchell Road, Fourth Street, Whitmore Avenue and Hatch Road have also reopened.A big rig was traveling south on Highway 99 near Hatch Road about 7:30 a.m. when it struck the back of a small truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.That crash caused the truck to end up on the northbound side where it spilled 41 one-gallon jugs of muriatic acid onto the roadway, CHP said.The roadway is expected to fully reopen at 2 p.m., Caltrans said.No one was hurt in the crash.
