MATTHEWS, NC : 1 killed, another hurt in crash on Monroe Road on Thursday, 21st August 2024

A section of Monroe Road is closed in Matthews due to a deadly crash, officials said.

The crash happened between North Carolina 51 and Galleria Boulevard around 7:30 a.m. Multiple agencies are on the scene, including Matthews Fire and Medic. One person was killed and another was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to Medic.
