New Haven, CT : One dead, one injured in Fatal crash shuts I-95 southbound in New Haven on Wednesday, August 27, 2014
Connecticut State Police say one person died and another was injured in a wreck that forced the closure of Interstate 95 southbound in New Haven and snarled the morning commute for hours.
Troopers say the accident happened at about 5:15 a.m. Wednesday near Exit 46 and involved two tractor-trailers and another vehicle. Police say one person was pronounced dead at the scene and another was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital with a serious injury.
The victims' names haven't been released.
All southbound lanes of the highway remain closed as troopers reconstruct the accident. State police say they'll reopen the highway as soon as possible, but no time was given.
