Barren Springs,VI : 2 Indiana motorcyclists killed in crash near Berrien Springs on April, sunday 23th 2017

Two motorcyclists from Granger, Ind. were killed when they were struck by a car Saturday.

At approximately 5:36 p.m. on April 22, emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Shawnee Road and Garr Road in Oronoko Township on a report of an injury accident involving a motorcycle and passenger car. David Allen Cox, 46, and Christine Marie Cox, 45, were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a release from the Oronoko Township Police Department, an investigation determined the motorcyclists were headed eastbound on Shawnee Road. A passenger car driven by a 79-year-old Buchanan man was westbound on Shawnee Road and attempted to turn left on Garr Road, at which point the motorcycle collided with the vehicle.

The driver of the passenger car was not injured.

East and west bound traffic on Shawnee Road are not required to stop at the intersection with Garr Road.

The crash remains under investigation.
