Stroudsburg, PA : Woman killed in Ross crash identified on Saturday, 24th September 2016

An 18-year-old Pen Argyl woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash at 12:14 a.m. Saturday near milepost 19.6 on Route 33 North, Ross Township, state police said.

She was identified as Angela Stephens by Monore County Coroner Robert Allen. Stephens was declared dead at the scene at 1:17 a.m. Allen said.

She had been driving a 2006 Ford Escape northbound when, for unknown reasons, the car went off the right shoulder and hit an embankment. The car then became airborne, flipped multiple times and hit a large traffic sign, coming to rest in the middle of the road. Stephens was ejected from the car.

On scene were Blue Ridge Hook & Ladder Fire Company and Wind Gap, St. Luke's and West End ambulances.

State police reported no other injuries or vehicles involved.
