Caroline ,VA : 75 - Years old Cardoza killed and driver seriously injured after Fatal Crash on Wednesday ,June 10th 2015

A North Carolina man has been identified as the victim in a fatal crash in Caroline County Wednesday afternoon. He was the passenger in a car that overturned after one of its tires blew out, according to Virginia State Police.

State Police said Lloyd A. Cardoza of Concord, NC, died at the scene of the crash on Interstate 95 South near mile marker 110.3. Cardoza, 75, was the front seat passenger in the 2002 Mercury Villager, and State Police said he was wearing his seat belt.

The driver, Silvany Cardoza, 68, also of Concord, North Carolina, and two passengers were transported to Mary Washington Hospital with serious injuries.

The south left shoulder and left lane were shut down for several hours, leading to a huge backup of eight miles. All lanes were re-opened around 3:30, but drivers can expect residual delays in the area.
