One man dead following deer, motorcycle collision in Eaton in New York
The victim of a Wednesday night motorcycle versus deer accident in Eaton was pronounced dead at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse late last night.The victim, Daniel Gorman, 60, of Oriskany Falls, died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the accident that occurred around 7:35 p.m. Wednesday on state Route 20 in Eaton, just west of Williams Corners Road.The crash occurred when a motorcycle, heading eastbound on Route 20, collided with a deer that was crossing the highway.Gorman was ejected from the motorcycle as a result.The accident was witnessed by a passerby who called 911.Gorman was transported to University Hospital in Syracuse by ambulance with serious injuries as a result of the crash.While the accident was investigated, state Route 20 was closed to eastbound traffic for about 90 minutes.New York State Police, Morrisville State College police, Morrisville Fire/Rescue, Smithfield Fire/Rescue, SEVAC and CAVAC Ambulances assisted on the scene.
