Somerset, VT : Truck crashes into three cyclists in Somerset on Saturday morning, June 25, 2016

On Saturday morning a Halifax man drove his truck into three Connecticut bicyclists on Somerset Road in Somerset, injuring all three, Vermont State Police said.

Lukas Wallace, 19, was driving a 1998 GMC pickup truck when he struck the cyclists. He also hit a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Cameron Johnson, 19, of Jacksonville, police said. Wallace and Johnson were not injured in the crash.

At approximately 8:54 a.m., troopers responded to the crash. The three cyclists — Graeme Street, 40, of Essex, John Biehn, 33, of Madison, and Timothy Ahern, 53, of Essex — were transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

According to State Police, Street was treated and released. Biehn and Ahern were transferred to Albany Medical Center. Both were reported by police to be in stable conditionThe Wilmington Police Department, the Wilmington Fire Department, and Deerfield Valley Rescue assisted at the scene. Police said both vehicles were damaged in the crash, which is under investigation.
