CHICAGO, IL : 1 dead after I-290 Expressway crash on West Side on Sunday, 13th August 2023

At least one person has died and three others were injured after a four-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on the Eisenhower Expressway, Illinois State Police said.

The crash happened around 2:15 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-290 near Homan Avenue, police said.

A driver traveling with two passengers in the far left lane lost control of their vehicle for an unknown reason, police said. That car veered to the right across all four lanes of traffic and was struck by two other cars traveling in the same direction.

The car that continued onto the right shoulder and rolled over onto a fourth car that was stopped in the right shoulder for an unknown reason, police said.
