WETUMPKA, AL : A Wetumpka man died in a single vehicle accident on Friday, January, 12th 2018

A Wetumpka man died in a single vehicle accident early Friday morning.

Daxon Earl Whitaker, 45, was killed when the 2002 Ford Mustang he was driving left the road, struck a ditch and overturned, said Cpl. Jess Thornton, a spokesman for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

He was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene, Thornton said. The wreck occurred about 12:40 a.m. on Highway 111 near the four mile marker, about two miles north of Wetumpka, he said.
