Topeka, KS : Woman injured in car-deer crash on I-335 south of Topeka on Monday, 25th November, 2019
One person was injured Monday evening in a car-deer crash on the Kansas Turnpike about 4 miles south of Topeka, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 5:34 p.m. on southbound Interstate 35 on the turnpike.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox sport utility vehicle was traveling south on I-335 when it struck a deer that had deer entered the roadway from the west ditch.
A passenger in the Chevrolet, Dianna Meier, 43, of Shawnee, was reported to have a suspected minor injury and was transported to Stormont Vail Hospital for treatment. the patrol said she was wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the Equinox, Patrick Meier, 44, of Shawnee, was reported uninjured. The patrol said he was wearing a seat belt.
The Chevrolet had to be towed from the scene, the patrol said.
