CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, IL : Deadly crash closes southbound I-255 in Metro East on Tuesday, 20th February 2024

A deadly crash closed southbound Interstate 255 in the Metro East Tuesday morning, according to state police.

According to the Illinois State Police, the crash happened around 5:35 Tuesday morning in the southbound lanes of I-255 near Illinois 157. The department described the crash as a fatal, two-vehicle crash but did not immediately say how many people were killed.
