Two Ole Miss students from St. Louis killed in crash

An early Saturday morning car accident claims the lives of two college students and injures two others. All are from the St. Louis area.

The accident happened just before 4:45 am Saturday state highway that runs through Oxford, Mississippi, home to University of Mississippi.

Christopher Grimaud, 20, of St. Louis County and Kevin Eagan, 18, of St. Charles were killed. There were pronounced dead at the scene. Grimaud was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in St. Louis. Eagan graduated from CBC Class of 2013.

The driver and another passenger were injured. James Connors is in an intensive care unit in a hospital in Oxford. Arthur Lueking was transported to a hospital in Memphis. Both are from St. Louis. Conners and Leuking both played tennis for CBC High School.
Oxford police say the vehicle overturned on Highway 7 near an exit for University Avenue. The car flipped over and landed in a median.

The Ole Miss community is mourning the loss of the young men. The Dean of Students, Sparky Reardon, issued a statement saying, “Our hearts break when we lose students and today the whole university is hurting. We will work through our university counseling center to address the emotional needs of the students’ families and friends.”
Reardon also offered prayers for the families of all four students.

CBC High School is planning to offer counseling for their students and young alumni. In a statement on Facebook the school sent their condolences, stating:
“The entire CBC family mourns the loss of our brother, Kevin Eagan, a graduate of the class of 2013. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the Eagan family, as well as the Grimaud family and the St. Mary’s High School community, during this painful and difficult time.

We continue to pray for the healthy recovery of graduates James Connors ’13 and Arthur Lueking ’11. We offer our love and support to the families and friends of all involved in this tragic incident.
