Jacksonville, FL : Car smashed into an Arlington backyard on early Monday morning one person injured on September 8th 2014

A car smashed into an Arlington backyard early Monday morning. Renardo Lassiter said he heard the crash and went outside to find the car in his yard around 4:45 a.m. “I was shocked and little more concerned because I have a 3-year-old and this could have happened any time of the day,” Lassiter said. “She could have been out here playing. I could have been out here cutting the grass.” Neighbors said this is the second time a car has smashed into the yard. Lassiter and his family have only been living in the house for a month. “I would not have bought this house if I would have known cars just come running through your fence like that,” he said. A crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol said 34-year-old Kenyata Hayes lost control of the car after being cut off by another driver. FHP has not located the other driver. Hayes was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The incident happened near the Southside Connector and Merrill Road. WOKV reached out to the Florida Department of Transportation Monday morning. We are waiting to hear from the department about whether they have plans to put up guardrails or other safety measures in the area. Source : Car crashes into Arlington backyard
