A 68-year-old man was killed Friday night in a single-car crash on Interstate 295 near Pulaski Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said William Thomas Johnson was driving north in a 2007 Scion just before 8 p.m. when he lost control, left the right side of the highway, began spinning and the front of the car collided with a DOT sign, then a tree. Johnson died at the scene. He was alone in the car and no other injuries were reported.
