Polk County, TX : 1 dead after car leaves road, hits tree in Deep East Texas on Thursday, December 4, 2014

Authorities are working to identify a deceased driver following a one-vehicle crash in Deep East Texas. On Thursday at about 10:18 a.m., Livingston DPS troopers responded to a one vehicle crash on Lyons Cemetery Rd. about three miles east of Moscow in Polk County. Once troopers arrived at the location, law enforcement determined a car traveling north on Lyons when it left the right side of the road and hit a tree, then caught fire and burned. An approximate time of the crash has not been determined. The driver has also not been identified. The victim ws taken to the Jefferson County Morgue for DNA testing and to determine cause of death.
