PORTLAND, OR : 2 dead after crash in the area of North Going Street and North Greeley Avenue on Wednesday, 22nd May 2019

Two people died in a collision in North Portland Wednesday morning, closing a busy area for hours.

The crash happened shortly before 9 a.m. in the area of North Going Street and North Greeley Avenue, Portland police said.

According to the initial investigation, a white sedan was driving south on Greeley Avenue when it crossed the center line and crashed into a gray SUV traveling north. The driver and passenger of the sedan died.

The SUV driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Authorities said that driver was released and not cited.

Greeley Avenue was closed between Going Street and Interstate Avenue until around 1 p.m.
