A woman was killed Friday night in a single-car crash in Sumter County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Angela Russell, 38, of Floral City, was traveling eastbound on County Road 48, near the intersection with County Road 625, around 6:19 p.m. Friday.

Russell traveled onto the south grass shoulder of the road as she went to go around a left turn. Russell then overcorrected, and her vehicle began to rotate counterclockwise across County Road 48.

The car then continued east down a grassy embankment and then crashed into a fence. The car overturned several times, the report states, and Russell was ejected from the vehicle.

Russell was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, where she later died, troopers said.
