Jefferson County, CO : 2-year-old girl dies in I-70 crash on Lookout Mountain on Saturday, 11th August 2018

A 2-year-old girl died Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle traffic crash on Interstate 70 in the foothills of Jefferson County.

A silver Pontiac eastbound on the highway west of the Lookout Mountain exchange crossed over the median and crashed into a pickup truck that was westbound, said Trooper Gary Cutler, a Colorado State Patrol spokesman.

Investigators suspect the driver of the Pontiac, a 28-year-old woman, had been drinking, Cutler said. That car was also carrying the child.The driver of the Pontiac was taken to a local hospital. Her injuries are not life threatening. The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries.
