Des Moines, IA : One person injured in crash on the 5700 block of Valley Drive on Friday, 30th October, 2020

The driver involved in a single-vehicle crash Friday night in Scott County has died.

The crash happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. Friday, when the Scott County Emergency Center received a call about the crash on the 5700 block of Valley Drive, a press release from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office says.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Accident Investigations Team responded, and found a beige 2005 Pontiac Sunfire, driven by a 49-year-old Bettendorf woman, had been traveling west on Valley Drive and ran off the road to the right.

The car then traveled several hundred feet between mailboxes and a telephone pole, then struck a tree head-on.
