St. Cloud, MN : 2 injured in St. Augusta collision on Wednesday, December 21, 2016

Two drivers were injured in a collision influenced by speed and icy road conditions near St. Augusta, according to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.


The sheriff's office was notified about 8 p.m. Tuesday of a collision with injuries on Stearns County Road 7, just north of Dellawood Road in Fairhaven Township about two miles south of St. Augusta.

According to the sheriff's office, 19-year-old Dean Kivisto of Cokato was traveling north on Stearns County Road 7 when he lost control of his 2004 Ford Ranger, crossed over the center line and collided with a 2007 Dodge Caravan driven south by Jennifer Olsen, 38, of Annandale.

Olsen was transported to St. Cloud Hospital for her injuries and was discharged Wednesday morning, according to the hospital. Kivisto received minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital. South Haven Rescue and Gold Cross Ambulance assisted at the scene.

The sheriff's office reminds drivers to drive appropriately for the road conditions and to be cautious of quickly changing conditions during the winter months.
