Red Oak, IA : Fort Madison man dead, 2 injured in one-vehicle rollover crash on U.S. Highway 34 in southwest Iowa on Sunday, March 22, 2015
Authorities say a man was killed and two other people, including a 3-year-old, were injured in a one-vehicle rollover in southwest Iowa.
The Iowa State Patrol says 23-year-old Brandon Perez, of Fort Madison, was pronounced dead at the scene near Red Oak. Thirty-year-old Hilary J. Knox, also of Fort Madison, and an unidentified child were flown to the Nebraska Medical Center and Children's Hospital & Medical Center, respectively, in Omaha, Nebraska. Their conditions weren't immediately known.
Investigators say Perez was driving early Sunday when his vehicle dropped off a shoulder of U.S. Highway 34. The report states Perez overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross the road into a ditch before rolling over several times.
Knox and the child were thrown from the vehicle.
The accident is being investigated.
